A contradiction in the liberal view of gender

A) Gender is a societally constructed concept. The gender roles we take are artificial constraints, and we should not limit people by them.
B) Transgender people were born in the wrong one and have every right to change genders.

Let's say someone is female (or male) but born in the "wrong body", so they are the opposite sex to their biology. Now, that's their gender identity they don't have to conform to any sort of gender role.

They can be born biologically male, but feel and identify as female, but behave totally masculine and not at all "womanly" for instance.


So, in summary: I'd argue that while gender roles are a social construct, and biological sex is a genetic construct... I'd say that gender identity is a personal construct.
