We supplied huge amounts of war materials to all the Allies. Mexico flew P-47s and P-51s in Europe. Lend-Lease shipped 500,000,000 buttons and eight sets of salt-and-pepper shakers. Monty kicked Africa Korps butt with American tanks. EVERYBODY drove jeeps. Britain ran on American oil and Spam. All five invasion beaches in Normandy were serviced by American landing craft.

It's kool to disparage the US in WWII, but lots of folks would be speaking German right now if we hadn't been in it.

I imagine most of Europe would be talking Russian.

But I agree, and Boru also stated elsewhere, that we likely would not have won without US supplies.

it is complicated.  if there were no threat of a more powerful invasion from england than britain alone can possibly manage,   it is unlikely the soviet union could have fought the nazis to something better than a stalemate in central russia.

without american logic aid on a sale that greatly exceeded the total war prioduction in comparable items by nazi germany and occupied europe, the USSR certainly could never have achieved the material superiority they attained, nor managed the elastic, deep penetrating battles that cost germany much of her army on the east and let the USSR seize so much territory.

So without the US, it is likely germany would not be defeated, even if she could not conquer the world.
