Oh, how awful.
I still have my wide one which is purple and several other colours, in 45 degree stripes. Wore it with a light purple shirt and a double breasted off white cord jacket. I think that was the year I fell off my platform shoes and hurt my ankle.
My wife was very "handy", member of The Hand Spinners and Weavers Guild, that kind of thing. She decided to re spring two of our dining room chairs seats. She needed cross braces. So naturally, she took my old, wide, hand tooled leather belts, cut them to size and nailed them to the frames. It goes without saying that I was so thrilled with the results I nearly shat.
