Just Be Honest

People may like their homeland, and I have no bone to pick at that, but the thing I despise next to religion is nationalism. It is silly, short-sighted and the ultimate proof of ignorance. The sheer pride given to the fact that they 'worship' a patch of land arbitrarily chosen by men long dead in unclear and bloody ways, the whole arrogant demeanor of boasting to others that they are somehow 'better' makes me sick. There is no nation on Earth that hasn't born and thrived on the fall of other nations or people, its like the fat western man mocking the poor on africa because they should've be working for their food. If you look at Earth from space you see no borders, no countries.

Do you look at earth from space by way of an American satellite?

I would think that if it is the "ultimate in ignorance," nationalism would rank lower than religion. I remember thinking of ultimates in ignorance when I decided to take a stroll to Florida without considering being an obvious Yankee in Dixie. I also remember defending against one misguided attack; thinking how this looks like another...

Because it ain't the philosophy section, rather politics; the poll references America, the thread asking "just be honest." Honestly it reads from here that your post references the middle east; and that's identity in a religious context.

I consider that having nationalism as a core platform in the agenda does not make one wise; yet to not consider - and occasionally emphasize - that all these words are tapped out by the fingers of a fifth-generation Irish-American prick of a mic is to ignore the canvas on which these words are painted. And then illustrations like this can occur:
