That you can take a verse out of context and then look at a Christian site at how they rationalize it for what purpose? That we contradict ourselves? Just because David prayed for destruction of babylon does not mean we should all agree with it just as we don't think it's right that David committed adultery. The only point I see is that man sins which is what we've been saying from the start.
You say that the bible is the word of god and then ignore the parts that seem contradictory. Simply put, bible is not perfect! How can you then assert Genesis is the true word of God if you think Psalm is not?
It's contradictory because David prayed for Destruction while someone else in the book of joshoah prayed for piece? Is it impossible for 2 different people to pray for 2 different things?
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
