One thing that Hammy said a while back was, 'meet one person with Autism and you've met one person with Autism'.
This is true and it's the high functioning people who'll trick you into forgetting they have a disorder until they suddenly make you remember that they do.
Acknowledging certain behaviours is not the same as excusing them.
One of the biggest behaviour indicators for me with Hammy is that he doesn't get jokes or sarcasm very well.
It's unfortunate, but this forum is not a mental health facility, no matter how understanding a lot of the people here are.
I agree with you. It's why I always tried to be more patient with him than with most other people.
But something drastically changed with Hammy when he got his diagnosis. It's like it gave him license to intentionally ignore the social cues that he does recognize. Bring it up and you get a three page DM diatribe saying how you're an asshole and fuck you and good riddance and everyone who agrees with me is wrong and fuck them too.
Maybe he needs to hit rock bottom before he's going to be able to self evaluate.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
