I didn't mean to offend or insinuate that yall haven't already thought of and considered it in the past. I was speaking purely from my personal experience of coming here with the intent of discussion and mutual exchange of ideas and being met with mostly brick walls. Which is true, and is also fine. I'm not saying anything about what yall have or have not considered in the past. I was asked for an explanation of why I decided to leave, and I gave it.
Sure. I just mean that the brick wall isn't necessarily dismissive. It's just been around the block. Theists come here and have the same discussions you have, and have been doing it for like a decade. Some of us have been here that long or just about. We've had those conversations, so we've already explored the facts on the subject. They come up short every time, so why do it again and again? It's boring. Do you not dismiss atheism? Do you see our position as a possibility? I doubt it.
Fair enough. Again, I wasn't trying to insult. Just explaining why this isn't the place for me.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
