He might fall for the "Microsoft has detected a virus on your PC" scam except for the fact that he, until recently, had no internet and no PC.
Sadly, they've never called me. I'd love to keep them occupied for hours.
You ought to hear my dad when they ring up. He winds them up something cruel. The longer they keep talking to one intractable customer, the less commission they're making.
I had a moment in the sun myself, back in the day. Some energy company coldcalled me and offered a special deal for switching to them. My immediate thought was the usual "here we go again", but as the call went on I became interested and thought it sounded a good deal. Since Sam was out and we always made joint decisions on matters concerning the both of us, I told the guy I was interested and I'd like to call back once Sam and I had discussed it. Then because he was after a pressure sale, he started the old "can't you make your own decisions" game. The more he went on, the less interested I became in being a customer until suddenly I cut him short and congratulated him on sucessfully talking himself out of a sale. I emailed a complaint about the guy to his head office, and I hope they played back the recording of the call - I'd love to have heard the "quality and training purposes" conversation about that one.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
