Let me get this straight, incest is illegal because of the enhanced likelihood of defective offspring? And that's it?
Hmmm... but two people with down's syndrome are legally allowed to marry, aren't they?
Shouldn't then there be some requirement for determining the actual likelihood of defective offspring, prior to any marriage? With genetic testing getting cheaper and cheaper, I can see that becoming a better gauge of who should and shouldn't marry, than just prevent brothers from having their way.
It's not something available to all siblings, but I don't see why that should be such a barrier to their happiness.
Considering all the autistic and Attention deficient children running around, I'd say that incest-born wouldn't be that different.
