I hate censorship so much that I really don't object to any word being used,
even if I don't like why or how it's being used.
Censorship just makes my skin crawl, really.
No....what I dislike is when people get hold of the wrong word.
Saying that they feel "Nauseous" instead of "Nauseated", for example.
Or saying "Indigent" when they mean "Indigenous". Two entirely different meanings.
Or saying that someone was "Floundering" when they mean "Foundering"
Or...mother of god, I hate this one...when they say something is a "Required" taste, when they mean "Acquired".
I once caught a clip of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" on TV,
and the groom and his groomsmen were being fitted for white tuxedos
with fluorescent pink ties and cummerbunds.
The groom was not accustomed to wearing a bow-tie,
and he kept pulling at it and complained that it made him feel
....and I quote....
"Smother-cated"
I nearly burst into flames on the spot.
I also don't like when people don't say "Film" but instead say "Fil-lum" *cringe*
even if I don't like why or how it's being used.
