In PA, we don't have specialized stores. We have "state controlled alcohol dispensaries" (my own made-up term). If you work in a liquor store, you are actually considered to be a state worker and you get an official "state ID" reflecting such. You literally are a government employee and I think you have to take a Civil Servant Test in order to work there. The beer stores are also heavily regulated by the state. They can only operate until 10pm in some areas and you must buy your beer by the case. They are not allowed to sell beer in six packs. If you want a six pack, you have to go to the bar and purchase it there, which is of course really expensive.
Wow, that's some pretty intense alcohol laws where you are. In the UK, you can purchase any alcohol in pretty much any quantity in supermarkets and local stores from 10 AM to 10 PM.
Alcohol prices are more or less the same throughout the UK and we don't have any restrictions, other than the purchase age - 18 - and the times they can sell it at.
