CIJSAIJBH,
During my academic career, I felt like a mindless machine whenever I became overly focused on the material aspects of school, such as getting good grades, sounding scholarly, and looking good on paper; thus, inhibiting myself from producing truly exceptional work. As a result, school was far more interesting, stimulating, enriching, and humanizing whenever I put the material aspects of it on the sideline and found some way to connect with academic ideas and make them a part of me: looking beyond what the teacher, book, or whoever says and making the concepts unique in my own way. Hence, engaging education in this manner, ignited my passion for ideas and enabled me to create original, exceptional work.
