Always ready to forgive the contrite? Absolutely. Always reaching out? No, I think there's plenty of Scripture showing that he stops reaching out to some people at some point, i.e. they've rejected what truth they've been shown and he knows they'll never be contrite. ETA: Note though that we don't know the status of any particular person. Maybe God has given them over to their sin. Maybe God is going to save them on their death bed. There's no way for us to know.

That doesn't explain the utter lack of answer given to those who did seek, did ask and in some cases downright begged for a sign and never got one.
Considering that Jesus said "A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign," why were they begging for a sign?
