Some of Muhammad's PBUH companions weren't Hafiz, either. Being a Hafiz is not a necessary nor a sufficient condition of being a good Muslim.

God removed these chains when he made the prophets perform miracles, and guess what, some people still rejected their message.

The Qur'an is preserved through oral transmission, a tradition back then in Arabia.

Again, you seem to give too much importance to memorizing the Quran, which is unwarranted. Unless one intends to become a professional theologian, or an Islamic jurist, etc. it's not required to memorize the entirety of the Qur'an.
