I missed a lot of prayers this year, but I am on a streak now, and I hope and pray to God that I will never miss a prayer again.
The daily connections are like a recharging battery and keeps me in balance, and keeps my perspective and love power source connected.
Lest I go to other doors then God's, or rely on other then him, or travel towards other then him, or live for something petty, I don't want to miss any prayers anymore.
I have missed Sundays since I was a teen. I still managed to go to college and graduate, and did so without praying to any god.
What you want is a sense of belonging, a sense of meaning, a feeling of importance. I was your age once. Nothing will make you happy if you are simply living live for antiquity, instead of living for yourself.
I cannot expect you to leave your religion. But don't go down that rabbit hole. Nothing good is going to come from zealously clinging to a desire. An obsession is always an obsession, regardless if it is over a female, a celebrity, or a god.
I cant repeat this enough, you view your god like I viewed Ann McCarthy. I wasted years of my life chasing her only to have her reject me.
If you become that obsessed with ANYTHING others in your ranks can lead and will lead you to do bad things to yourself and to others.
It is ok to be yourself. And it is great you are getting an education, but don't become so obsessed with your religion, that you become so ridged as to not see the humanity and good of humans whom do not share your beliefs.
