You can also get enough vitamin D from a few servings of fish, particularly salmon. I think your vitamin argument is pretty specious, though. Nothing about a lockdown prevents people from going out into their own garden, or sitting by a window when indoors. Also, people who would otherwise spend large amounts of time outside are the same people most likely to wear sunblock.
In any case, it doesn't take a lot of time to get the D you need from sunshine. 20 minutes twice per week is generally adequate, and even the most restrictive lockdowns don't prevent that.
