Well, here’s a meat pie my Dad and I made with a recipe based loosely around this one. A lot of substitutions were made, from removing some (but not all, unfortunately) of the cooked vegetables, putting some cheese on top, adding some butter to compensate for the leanness of the meat, and, of course, replacing the pork and beef with veal (the meat that’s most similar to human flesh, according to William Seabrook) for as close as we can legally get to authenticity.
Naturally, I’d have to make some changes before it’s ready for prime time, maybe replacing the vegetables with potato (the only vegetable that should be cooked, IMHO), and finding a better binding so the meat’s less crumbly when you eat it. And maybe when I get my idea for a restaurant based on faked cannibalism (and the meat is actually veal), I could make the meat pies a class of entrees (the vegetable version would be the Lovett Pie and the potato version the Sweeney Pie.) They’d probably be more popular than the Armin Meiwes Menschenschnitzel, but less popular than the Dahmer Burger and its double-patty equivalent the Big Lurch Burger. And I'm disappointed that I can't figure out a good fit with Issei Sagawa.
