Cheese tortellini in garden veggie pasta sauce. It's my favorite sauce for spaghetti, but it's hit-and-miss on tortellini. But I didn't feel like opening another jar of sauce. The pasta was a Target house brand that ranked surprisingly high on someone's best tortellini list, so I thought I'd try it. For the money, it's hard to beat. What was even more surprising was the instructions for cooking in a microwave. No water is required -- just stick it and some pasta sauce in a bowl and nuke it. I don't know that it could get any more convenient.
And tonight I tried some "double cut" crushed red pepper that I bought so that I could get a more even coating on my pasta and didn't have to spit out wood-chip-sized chunks along the way like you do with regular cut. I'm happy with my investment, but finding a shaker with suitable holes proved more difficult than I had anticipated. I've already returned one set of shakers to Amazon because the holes weren't sufficiently large. I think I've got it handled now, but I never imagined it being this hard.
