It’s theoretically possible it’s the same reason I actually did vote for Obama three times (remember primaries are still a thing and were in 2008) and was more than a little disappointed in him: namely, he wound up following a bit too closely in the neoliberal footsteps of his predecessors. I voted for him the third time because the options were basically same old neoliberal shit in a younger, hipper, more melanated wrapper with occasional good things, an increasingly feral Republican opposition, and just wiping my ass with my rights as a voter and risk having enabled the worse of the two evils getting in.
Then again, I get the feeling my experiences don’t mirror IA’s experience with Trudeau.
