Biden recognizes the Armenian genocide
April 25, 2021 at 12:43 pm
One side was Muslim and the other Christian, what more can I say? Maybe up to over 3 million people were killed and around 100,000 to 200,000 Armenian women and children were forcibly converted to Islam and integrated into Muslim households.
It is also seen as a potential fracture in a relationship with Turkey. But why would Erdogan be angry since it happened during the Ottoman Empire? They are not the same country anymore, although still not very Democratic.
Is the connection Erdogan feels with those people of the past who did the massacre that they were also Muslims?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

That’s exactly it. Much like some of our own members, Erdogan can’t possibly be seen to agree that Muslims - for whatever reason, religious or political - committed any anti-humanitarian act. Ever.
Even Tony Blair had the good grace to admit that the British government at the time bore massive responsibility for the deaths of a million Irish people (though he couldn’t bring himself to use ‘the g word’) and to apologize for it.

Erdogan also can’t be seen offending china by complaining about Chinese treatment of muslims.
one could see much in a soul by the consistency of its indignation’s.

Good call on Biden's part! I have known about this since childhood!
