1: Would reducing the number of cars on the road reduce car deaths. Yes it would. The same with uns. And in fact every time countries have restricted gun ownership gun deaths drop.
2: And reducing people willing to use guns access to guns would reduce their ability to use the guns they are willing to use. Fewer guns deaths would result.
3: You like your guns and are willing to accept any number of deaths so you can have them.
1. If it were true, then all countries should show a similar correlation between gun ownership and gun deaths. For example, New Zealand has about 1/5 the per capita gun ownership the US does, so we should have 1/5 the gun deaths (per capita). Instead, we have about 1/12 as many. It isn't guns, it's gun culture.
