I haven't seen enough real-world programs to convince me that hyperthreading is worth it. After all, on modern processors, how deep is the pipeline? Ten, fifteen stages? What's the benefit with having two threads on the same core?? If one stalls, the other can continue? Is not 12 physical cores enough???
