One thing I don't get, is why after the pass, the yardage is attributed to the pass.
I think yardage on the spot of the pass completion should be attributed to where the pass was made, and any gain after the completion should be attributed general yardage.
For example, if a quarterback throws a 5 yard pass, from the spot of the catch, then the receiver runs from their own 20 yard line to score, why is that considered an 80 yard pass, when the catch was only five yards off the snap? I am not trying to negate the score. But the actual pass was only 5 yards, the rest of the run to the end zone was avoiding being tackled.
