Quote:What evidence do you have that he doesn't answer prayers? Too many people think prayers are like wishes. This is MY desire, God please fulfill it. Maybe His answer is no. Or "not right now".If argue for the effectiveness of prayer by making it indistinguishable from the failure then you have an issue. If you need to make prayer indistinguishable from mere religious placebo you have an issue. And if you must argue that god has done something you could only verify after your dead...you have an issue.
Prayer is turning to God for His will to be done and to provide comfort and guidance in our time of need. It's also to go to Him in gladness, thankfulness for provision, etc. Like a toddler that looks to their parent for everything.
I would of course argue that God has done something to provide a Heavenly world. That is in the work of the person of Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection

“No matter what men think, abortion is a fact of life. Women have always had them; they always have and they always will. Are they going to have good ones or bad ones? Will the good ones be reserved for the rich, while the poor women go to quacks?”
