I was raised as a catholic, but somewhere around the ages of 8 or 9 I started to question my beliefs. I guess it was probably related to my passion for science, which has inevitably encouraged my to think critically. I voiced it out to my brother, who subsequently told my parents. They seemed to act as though I was going to become a person of no morals. Of course, I pretended that I believed in god in order to prevent the matter from being blown up. As the years went by, my parents seemed less and less concerned about my nonbelief. When I reached 16, I became more outspoken about it, and strange enough my parents were not as perturbed by it. I guess it was probably due to the fact that they assured themselves that I made a mature decision.
