I shudder to think what their "best of" list would consist of.

Yeah, LOL, apparently their reason is that 6000 years ago we were closer to god. Closer to god = more perfect. As time goes by, we get more and more seperated from God. Surely we may just become total idiots before the final judgement day comes. Humans also live shorter lives the more generatons go by (according to these fundies). Adam lived a thousand years, people today are lucky if they hit 80 years old... who knows, sometime in the next 5 hundred years we may be grunting and groaning to communicate with a lifespan of 40 years or so. The rest of them deal with the understanding of various things, so I'm not surprised they're on this list made by those people. Who needs architecture knowledge when all one needs is sticks, mud, and prayer!
Should I feel lucky that my major isn't on that list?
Don’t ask.

Ahh yes. Video game design.
Completely useless given that video games don't make anyone any money.[/sarcasm] This is, of course, from the same website that says this: conservapedia "Dinosaur" Entry Wrote:Creation science asserts that the biblical account, that dinosaurs were created on day 6 of creation[3] approximately 6,000 years ago, along with other land animals, and therefore co-existed with humans, thus debunking the Theory of Evolution and the beliefs of evolutionary scientists about the age of the earth. Theory of Evolution DEBUNKED FOREVER! Checkmate you dirty pinko commie atheists.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925 Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan
Can we really be surprised by any level of stupidity on conservapedia anymore?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
I think in the UK anything to do with media studies is generally the least useful degree. I personally think theology is useless, but mixed with history it could become useful.
Uh, try looking for a job after some of those majors...
Wait, architecture made the list??? WTF! (December 29, 2011 at 10:39 am)zip_ster Wrote: Uh, try looking for a job after some of those majors... The list fails to take into consideration that getting a job isn't the only priority of someone going to college / university. Some want to learn about things that interest them; others want to study something fun. People who study the humanities are notorious for having a hard time finding a job after their studies end, compared to those who study science. That doesn't make English, History, Art, etc a "bad" or "useless" degree. RE: Conservapedia - list of worst college majors
