If you thought the rich and powerful would just stand by and allow people to form actual grassroots campaigns against the corruption they're scrambling to support, well, you thought wrong because they're definately reacting to it.
Apparently the power to arrest people without a trial wasn't enough. Apparently the asshats we elected into congress needed something more.
And boy if I didn't hate Joe Lieberman before, I now loathe being on the same planet as him. It's too bad there isn't a hell, because this worthless and treacherous human being needs to suffer a fate worse than death for basically stripping Americans of their basic freedoms.
This gem of a bill basically allows, well, I'll quote:
So there you have it. The NDAA allowed the arrest of American citizens but due to complaints, the bill was revised before signing to contain COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE language that is supposed to remove those provisions.
This bill will basically strip you of you nationality for the same reasons.
Just in case.
When this new law is signed by Obama (and will be signed - of that I am certain), I'm almost certain that the first targets of this bill will be the Occupy Movement protestors along with a media blackout of the whole event. That's my prediction.

Addicting Info Wrote:This bill would give the US government the power to strip Americans of their citizenship without being convicted of being “hostile” against the United States. In other words, you can be stripped of your nationality for “engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States.”

If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan
