Quote: Of course I do, the Bible makes it clear that during the antediluvian period, the condition of the earth was very different, for instance there was a layer of water in the atmosphere.

"And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so."

Firmament means sky, so there was water above and below the sky.

If you want to get scientific, water blocks radiation,

During the flood, the Bible states that the "windows of heaven were opened", and all that water fell to the Earth,

Liquid water blocks radiation, water vapour, not so much.
Water fell to the earth, not water vapour or clouds, water!
Etcetera, but I can't be fucked on, you'll weasel out of it anyway.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

And, of course, while liquid water is a barrier against harmful radiation, it's also a barrier against light.  Plant life would look a lot more like we see in our bodies of water than what we're used to.  That, in turn, would affect the wildlife, including us.  And there's absolutely nothing in the fossil record to support that.

I mean, yeah, liquid water does form in our atmosphere.  It's called rain.  But notice that it doesn't stay suspended in our atmosphere.

Also, lol at "If you want to get scientific." Huggy, you wouldn't know science if it bit you in the ass. What you do - believing that what the Bible says is true and trying to find tenuous examples in the real world that may support it - is not scientific. Science doesn't work backwards from a conclusion like that. I know creationist idiots do it all the time, but science is a method. Your/their method ain't it.

You have to admit one thing, Succ.  Huggy would make a first-rate Bronze Age asshole.

I'm sure he does.  In that he is genuine.

Dumb but genuine.

Quote:Water vapor is a greenhouse gas in the Earth's atmosphere, responsible for 70% of the known absorption of incoming sunlight, particularly in the infrared region, and about 60% of the atmospheric absorption of thermal radiation by the Earth known as the greenhouse effect.

Water vapor is still water, while it may not be as effective as a liquid, I'm sure a large enough volume of it would be.

Also I'd like to note that I asked for an example of where I specified 'liquid water' and you provide an example with no such specification... makes sense if you're stupid.

This is his MO.  He says something idiotic, gets caught, and then furiously backpedals with “What I was really saying (read: meant to say, now that I’ve exposed myself yet again) was...” while trying to maintain an air of righteous indignation the entire time.

Other things he does:

Makes unwarranted assumptions in an attempt to create a gotcha (see: Marilyn Hickey’s missing uterus)

Takes ridiculous, impossible things that fit his bias at face value, and demands we prove him wrong (see: Prophet Yahweh)

False equivalences everywhere (see: this thread, with the other planet that is entirely unlike our own, which, if he really meant water vapor from the start, he would’ve said “actually I meant water vapor” rather than try to say that’s what he really meant pages after that particular point was beaten into the ground....)

Much like Steve’s hardon for testimony, these traits are part of every thread Huggy is a part of.

The stupidity of these characters is breathtaking. How do they manage to eat without poking their eyes out with the cutlery.

Don't know why, but that made me think about the dumb blonde joke where a blonde wearing headphones is found dead on the ground, and after pushing 'play' on the walkman, which apparently was turned off at the time of hear death, they hear it repeating, "Breathe. Breathe. Breathe."
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

---

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.
