The entire notion of sin is patently ridiculous.

A 'perfect' being creates imperfect beings with an innate proclivity for certain behavior, a lot of it arbitrarily labeled as being 'bad', and then punishes these lesser beings for not successfully overcoming their programming because the 'perfect' being's love should be more... something (powerful? attractive?).

It's just moronic all around. A children's tale that far too many people haven't matured past.

In 1588 the English were just positive that "god" had sent the storms which destroyed the Spanish Armada.  By 1589 it seems that "god" had switched sides as the much lesser known English Armada was also savaged by storms as they attempted to invade Portugal.  The English Armada was a colossal flop too.  So either:

1.  "God" has trouble making up his mind, or

2.  There is no "god" and there are always storms in the Atlantic that no amount of fucking praying will stop!
