Here's a helpful illustration that was sent to me via Facebook today:

Hope that clears things up.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

a little late to the punch, but i have a more than fleeting interest in accents and language in general. i wish i was more versed in the different english ones, but alas, i'm simply one of them that can't distinguish australian from english. if i hear kate beckinsale or posh spice talk, i'm pretty much gonna go clean up and have a stogey afterwards. like in this: (btw sacha baron cohen is hilarious)

even more so. accents can change even in a couple of miles.
I am pretty accsentless as I have never been in one place long enough to develop one.

My own accent is nowhere near as pronounced as I'd like, due to 'contamination' from outside influences I suppose. For instance, if I'm talking with some outsider foolish enough to ignore the blood-spattered and be-cobwebbed "turn back now!!!" signs placed around our borders, I occasionally catch myself trying to avoid the distinctive dropped 'H' of BCD* and thus have to bend my brain back to the idea.
Interestingly, the only known instance of a pronounced initial 'H' we have is in connection with just one innocent little word, in a way that would violate the rules of modern English grammar. Even then it's only used in one specific context and even that's fairly archaic now. The word is 'old', which BCD pronounces "hode" or "h'ode", in the sentence "the hode gentleman": referring, specifically, to The Devil, no less. I wonder what our fundie friends would make of that?
