What confuses me is why you ask where the first cell comes from, rather than the first atom, or subatomic particle. Presumably you believe the Big Bang is responsible for these, and if you believe the Big Bang can bring about such complex things like particles, cells should be child's play for the universe (and indeed, they are).

Mini what you said I think is pretty viable. That science hasn't proven anything yet, but the Gods stories that people have made haven't either. That seems to make some sense to me.
Can I ask you guys another question?
So since you don't believe in God do you just think that we should just live our lives to the fullest. Help people (Humanitarian right?)

I just don't understand how we started is the only thing thats really stopping me from being atheist. I guess we can say we don't know I mean it was a long time ago how is anyone to know. Just looking for ideas I mean do you guys believe in the big bang theory? How do you think it just started? or are you satisfied with just not knowing?
I'm with Darwinian now, Never saw anyone other than a fundie conflate abiogenesis with the big bang.

Atheism is simply the rejection of supernatural explanations.
Beyond that it is hard to get unanimity on any other issue.

The fact that you and your husband don't understand everything – who does? – doesn't automatically mean there is a god who does.
Chances are that you don't understand how to replace the engine in your car. Does that make the mechanic god?

I think people should live their lives how they want to. My hope is that everyone tries to be charitable, but at the end of the day I'm not going to force people to be.

Well, the kicker is, there is no *should*.
However, I love my life, my wife, my children, and this wonderful but brief existence of mine.
Part of that existence is dependent on a shared moral consensus, and much of this I tend to concur with a humanist view myself. The point is, that your moral decisions are your own.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?
