Aren't you atheists frightened that you might be wrong and then when you die Jesus is going to be very angry with you for not being his friend and send you to hell for punishment, even if it isn't for ever?

Wouldn't it be better to accept Jesus as your friend and master even if you have trouble believing it because then you would have at least made an effort and tried and when you die he might not be so angry and look kindly on you because he does really love you after all?

Tentatively, I agree with him here. We do need rules to live by - otherwise all we are doing is living by our instincts and range of the moment desires and then we would be no different than savages.

We need some kind of moral system yes. But what I was referring to is that he seems to only get his morals from a book, as though it is impossible to live life without those constraints which are uttered in such a book. Hence it makes him look more of a cunt than anyone else because he is showing how willfully weak he is when he says he has to rely on a book to be a 'good person'.

Hence my preface of 'tentatively'. I saw your criticism of only a section of his statements (a section which did not mention any source of the morals) and it happened to be probably the only line uttered by him that I happen to agree with. I was tentative because I agree with that quote only when taken out of his context.
