The operators (16 series mos) and the technicians (24p and q which included me) all went to school at fort bliss. I'm pretty sure they just trained the depot level Nike techs at Redstone. The depot guys would have been at battalion as opposed to in the field with the firing batteries. They did the component level maintenance. In the field we mostly just swapped chassis and made adjustments. Lots of adjustments to analog systems.

Air defense has pretty much all moved to fort sill these days.

Bunch of old timers here. I did 6 years, Army Reserve. 25B which probably didn't exist in your day lol. It's basically a sysadmin.
