After reading your blog post, and the contents of this thread i must agree. However, i don't have a passphrase, I use a pass in this format: Word:Number(s):Letter(s):Number(s) So far it has worked out rather well for me. I will say i enjoyed reading the replies on this thread.. Some of them were rather comical in my opinion.

If that is true, then you've just revealed sensitive data about your password, and made it far easier to crack. For fuck's sake people, don't discuss your passwords, especially on a public forum! Discuss passwords in general, discuss good password schemes, but don't ever tell anyone your actual "format" or how many letters / numbers it has.

SavageNerdz: I suggest you change your entire format immediately; you've just made your passwords almost trivial to brute-force.
