I saw that coming.

Lacking a belief doesn't mean you must first be aware of it. A child before they become aware of religious belief does lack it. The statement is true. Before I even heard of this 'god' I did lack that belief. It's just I lacked belief later on because I was aware of it and found it most unconvincing and improbable.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

As I said, I was a "nothing". I was a complete blank canvass.

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

"I actually thought that catholic schools were church funded. It's pretty outrageous that the government is funding religious schools."

More info on that, 22% of primary schools in England and Wales (mostly Catholic but a few Muslim/Hindu/Jewish ) are state aided. This means the church provides the land to build the school, and 10% of the build cost - the rest being paid by the state. Of course if the school already exists, e.g. if it is an independent school entering the state sector, then there is no need even for the initial 10% build cost. Any further capital projects, like an extension , or new gym, are funded in the same way. The governing trust (ie the church) then owns the building and the running costs of the school are provided 100% by the local authority, whilst the governing trust retains control over admissions policy and school ethos (I think you can guess what that means !!).

Most Church of England schools are "voluntary funded" meaning that the local authority pays for everything but has more control over the school.

Atheism is a lack of belief in gods, there has to be a belief in gods for you to lack.

If there was no theists there would be no atheists.

True, atheism is simply the opposite of religion. If there was no religion, there'd be no atheism. However on the belief and lack of the statement is true regardless.

Then you were not a theist so your wew an atheist (without a belief in god). Is that really hard to understand?

Pure unadulterated bullshit. If you don't believe in gods you lack that belief regardless of awareness.

Correct, there would be no need for the word but the "non-god" lack is still there. Are you really this obtuse?
