Why do evolutionists protect endagered species???

RE: Why do evolutionists protect endagered species???
While I find the OP's post disingenuous, it actually did get me thinking...

a) The vast majority of species that have ever existed are extinct (99.9% is one estimate).

b) Homo sapiens' impact on the environment has led to numerous extinctions.

c) Despite b), the overwhelming majority extinctions described by a) occurred long before H. sapiens became a factor.

d) We cannot reduce our environmental footprint to zero, nor can we likely prevent all extinctions.

Assuming that we can't prevent all extinction, then logical question is which species, if any, should we save? By what criteria? Should the criteria be based upon human impact, need, or something else? I don't claim to have the answers. Recognizing that any we take towards another species, positive or negative, will necessarily impact other species in the ecosystem.

It is our fault they are endangered, so it is up to us to keep them here. Also, some species are integral to life on this planet ( bees in particular ) so we need to keep them around.

Your answer contradicts itself:
According to evolution bees were not needed to start life. It claims it started from a single cell. No bees yet. According to evolution there isn't any particular species needed to start life just a big bang.
James Holmes acted consistent with what evolution teaches. He evolved from an animal, and when he murdered those people, He acted like one. You can't say he's wrong since evolution made him that way.

That's right. The Big Bang started life.

It doesn't matter if the extinction is due to evolution in action, most people still feel bad about seeing a species die out. Most of the time, however, it is not evolution in action, but a direct result of humanity's detrimental effect on the planet, so it then becomes our duty to try to stop the extinction from happening.

And my first comment stands.

Your answer contradicts itself:
It seems that your telling me now it's MAN vs. Evolution because man doesn't like evolution's "natural selection". "Feeling bad" about something doesn't make it logical. Please no emotional/arbitrary answers.

No he's saying if bee's go the current life of which we are quite fond would die. Personally I don't want to be extinct so bee's are necessary.

Beliefs? Them acknowledging natural selection doesn't mean they want species to die out.

Tho quite frankly I bored of fucking pandas... Or lack of fucking pandas..

Its not contradictory. Maybe a waste of money tho.

Self contradicting also:
Your "wants"??? That has nothing to do with evolutions presupposed "natural selection".

You have proven something here today and you can take pride in that. You have proven that you've chosen a topic about which you know little to nothing.

Well considering the fact that we are directly responsible for countless endangered and even extinct species, I think we have an obligation to clean up after ourselves and try and undo the damage we've done. It's only right and fair after all.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

No contradiction. We can control the future of certain animals. Humans are the product of nature. Natural selection.

Cows 'succeed' because we found them useful so we breed them.

We can change the future of a species through our actions.

Evolution is not just about extinction, it is about self-preservation. Keeping species alive is in our best interest to survive. There you go, a non-emotional scientific answer.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
