I've found stuff I've liked from every genre I've heard so far. I initially got into music via Guns N' Roses which then took me to older rock bands (like Led Zeppelin) as well as metal. Eventually I began liking classical music and then I got into jazz. I've even found rap, (electronic) dance and bluegrass stuff I like - all of which I used to oppose almost in principal, which, in hindsight, was a stupid stance. Here's what I'm listening to now:

Renaissance and baroque music, and only when performed on original instruments in historical informed performance style. Our whole understanding of the way they played music back then has drastically improved and changed in the past 50 years. The popular performances of baroque and classical music people are use to are complete anachronisms with their slow tempi, constant vibrato, legato phrasing and rhythmic strictness.

The older I get, the older the type of music I like becomes!

Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
