Having seen and read all that,it seems the kid may have ADHD ,be bipolar or just be nasty little shit. Handcuffing was probably inappropriate. I would have tasered her.


What's the bet the family will receive a large out-of-court settlement and the child will be moved to another school,where it will repeat the same fragrant behaviour.

FWIW, bipolar disorder rarely develops in children that young.

I'd like to think that race isn't at issue, though that may be naive. Whether race is at issue here or not, how the situation was handled appears to me to be inappropriate, and it probably didn't start with a child's tantrum.

With the caveat that I was not there, and monday-morning quarterbacking is easier than dealing with a developing situation, I have to think that calling the police to deal with a child who is "throwing a tantrum" shows a profound lack of child-care skills. And, yes, I'm a parent and not just speaking out of my ass.

While it's possible that the child in question is just a little shithead, I think it's more likely that their behavior is a reflection of the environment at home and/or school.

I didn't know that. OK, what about ADHD or nasty little shit? My mate has a son (allegedly) with ADHD who is ALSO a right little shit (he's 24 and mercifully currently in the US)


I say 'allegedly' because I was present when he was about 14 when he gave his step mother a mouthful of vile insults. When he had finished his tirade, I took him quietly aside. With severe political incorrectness, I promise him that he ever spoke to me like that I would give him a backhander which would flatten him .(I was bluffing,but he didn't know that) We have never had a cross word. My younger brother (let's call him J, yes we have the same first initial) & I were very large children, dwarfing most of our peers in weight & height till the 6th grade in my case & forever in J's. He's still pretty damn huge.

Anyhow, when J. was in 3rd grade he assaulted the vice-principal of the elementary school we both attended. He was about to get paddled, this time for something he actually didn't do & I guess he was angry about it since he never had an issue getting paddled when he did screw up.

The assault was discovered in progress by the principal & a secretary. It took 3 grown adults to pull him off of the VP (which actually made it worse since J. had him firmly by the necktie) The VP ended up in the hospital with a broken shin, 3 broken fingers & bruising to his throat.

Pretty sure J. was the first 3rd grader to ever get expelled from that school.

Yes, ADHD can be in children that young(not sure what the minimum age is but six is old engough), but the main problem in the psychological community is the gross over-diagnosing of ADHD. A lot of times kids who are just hard to handle will be diagnosed with ADHD by an incompetent psychologist.

We chose specifically not to name our children any name that came from the Bible. We knew too many little shits with biblical names.
