Here it has come come to light that some companies and organisations are paying celebrities for tweets endorsing their product(s)
Here SA Tourism paid a celebrity chef a measly $900 to endorse Kangaroo Island.
Unfortunately for them, the punters found out---the tweet generated 3 MILLION negative comments!
Plus, not stating such endorsements are paid is illegal here under our consumer protection laws.
The practice is apparently also common in the US.
My position;if you are stupid enough to follow the tweets of some celebrity, you are fair game.
