Francois Hollande elected President of France
The socialist candidate, "Mr Normal", has been elected President of France, with 52% of the vote.

Among his policies are heavy taxes for businesses, and an increased number ( 60,000 extra ) jobs in teaching.

Socialist is a dead word. He's centre left, and more socially liberal than Sarkozy. But then given that Sarkozy was trying to butter up French fascists, that's not too difficult.

His other policies are growth, something the austerity pushers know nothing of. Austerity works with growth, not without it. Hense why it's failing and people are pissed.

On the taxes front, it'd just be a good idea to get big businesses to actually pay the taxes they owe, there would be no need for an increase if they weren't such dodging scumbags.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?

The real socialist still needs to bring French budget closer to balance. Will he have the guts to do what is really necessary in addition what is highly desired?

In addition, France is only somebody because of the european union and euro. Euro only continue to exist because banks can profitably keep the outer regions of euro zone to keep them afloat. Does Hollande understand the consequences of "stick it to the banks"?

We'll wait and see, but I've the usual feeling that one does not rise up to prominence while not being vetted by the powers that be. I find it hard to believe that the banks would truly let one of their foes rise as far as the presidency, without getting some hold over him.

Different world here moros. Banks and businesses dont run europe. If anything, in France, it's the civil servants who hold the power.
