The Price of Prohibition

The Price of Prohibition
Mexico's Drug War: 50,000 Dead in 6 Years (NSFW images) - This is the cost of government putting profit before people. That's 50,000 people dead, more than the combined casualties of the American Revolutionary War (which lasted 8 years, I should add).

What are your perspectives on this?

I'll really throw my two-cents in after this thread gets rolling, but there is death and gore in the link. The weak of heart need not click.

It's not that kind of war. The casualties are very often innocent people caught in the middle.

If you're going to bring your nationalistic, racist ideas into this, you're just going to be ignored.

Well, how does one get caught in the middle, if one is innocent?
Do you mean like buyers?

It's best that any respective government offers alternatives to people who must get involved in this ugly business. But there are people in the Mexican and US governments that profit from this business.

the subject of this thread is perfect(ly stated). this is certainly a problem that could be addressed for the simple cost of an open mind.

Yes...it's their right to use drugs. It's not the government's right to dictate what people choose to put into their own bodies. That is when innocent people get caught in the crossfire.
