Scientific ACCURACIES in the Bible
#81
RE: Scientific ACCURACIES in the Bible
I'm not quite sure if arguing about tiny details about semantics is really going to help us here! Smile

Maybe we should set a challenge!!

Like, agree that the first person to find a genuine, convincing accuracy in the Bible gets kudos from all of us in the thread or something! xD

That way we'll all actually TRY to find stuff!

What do you reckon? Smile

EDIT --

A reasonable number of Christians at least TRY to support their belief with evidence, which is a good start!!!

No, spelling should matter, because Drich loves to discuss differences between words. The sad fact that all he can do is parrot out the work of others, and with no proper grounding academically, is sufficient reason to doubt that you will get past "godsaysso" once you peel him back to true philology.

Christian: "I have here the word of almighty God!"

Atheist: "But how do you know that is the word of God and not simply the word of man presenting itself as the word of God?"

Christian: "................... but I have the word of almighty God!!"

And so it continues ad infinitum >.<

If you are expecting some great breakthrough or harmony of the spheres, you have some bad news coming.

Arguing over definitions with a person who cannot spell "definition"

OH, even better: A person who cannot spell "definition" arguing over definitions.

[Image: irony-meter.gif][Image: irony-meter.gif][Image: irony-meter.gif]

I predict MARTYRDOM, with attendant claims of persecution over some intelligently-designed and god-given disability, handed down from the Throne as some sort of gratuitous test of stupidi-- ah, "faith".

Or perhaps out of incompetence in the "intelligent design" department ...

Meh. I've found ability at spelling and/or grammar not to be strongly correlated with either intelligence or knowledge.

There are geniuses who can't spell to save their life.

When it comes to holding a debate with a man who claims to be a concordance expert, apo, it matters.

Somebody who picks at your spelling is just covering up the fact that they can't find another argumend. It's just wasting time.
This is stupid

No, but for many it may not matter. Fact is, spelling does matter, or meaning doesn't.

Christian: Because I have personally tested the promises found in the bible and know them to be true. In Short God has reveiled what He has promised if one follows the path subscribed by scripture.
