Let your hair down, what bone headed things have you done?

Let your hair down, what bone headed things have you done?
Things can get heated on websites like this with personal topics. But I do find it important to create threads otherwise people who are adversaries can use to show ultimately we are really all human.

I'll start.

For example, who has not locked their keys in their car, or at least had to help someone who has done that. But who has done worse and locked them in the car with the car running? I have TWICE!

Ok, how about stopping for gas, before pre pay was the norm, pumping the gas buying snacks, but not paying for the gas and driving off because you forgot to pay for it. I did that and it wasn't until 30 miles later looking at the change in my drivers seat that I realized "Holy fuck I didn't pay for the gass". I completed my trip, and because I remembered the name of the town and gas station brand, fortunately, was able to call them up and ask them if I could mail them a money order. But it would have SUCKED if the cops had a "be on the look out" and had stopped me before I realized my mistake.

I was in the library recently and I saw this girl. She was very attractive and I was scared to talk to her, so I decided to try and take a photo of her feet. A few hours later, cops arrived at my house, thinking something worse might be up (allegedly, one guy thought I might be trying to rape her or look up the skirt she wasn't even wearing and almost attacked me), and eventually, this misunderstanding was cleared up (with both the cops and the library), the photo was deleted, and I (With some help from Buster Keaton) eventually cheered up after a brief period of time where I seriously considered seppuku.

Gas stations seem to be a breeding ground for idotic actions. When I was 13 my mom pulled into a gas station, and she told me to fill the van up. I did so, went in and paid, and then got back in the van completely oblivious to the fact that not only had I forgotten to close the gas cap, but I had left the nozzle in. My mom, thinking everything was kosher, pulled away, yanking the hose out of the side of the pump. Luckily, they are quite prepared for these things, and it disconnects easily while activating a failsafe. It sure was embarassing though to get out of the van with everyone staring at me as the hose lay portruding from the gas tank.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Really wasn't what I was looking for and what would posses you to take pictures of someone's feet without their permission?

Maybe I am missing some background here that would make your story clear?

That sucks. I am glad over the years gas companies take into account people do stupid shit like that and make the pumps more idiot proof.

This is why I'll not post in this thread honestly. Because one's probably going to get an inquisition.

I was not thinking clearly at the time. My thought process at the time would be that if I was too scared to talk to her, I'd probably be content to just look at her picture. I also like girls' feet. And double consciousness began to click in as soon as I began to realise what I had done.

WTF? You're judging whether people's admissions fit a set of criteria for boneheadedness? Is this thread a clever self-reflection, Brian?

Have I done many bone-headed things? You bet, and I seem to be doing more as I age.

Will I post them on an internet forum forum? Put is this way;my mother did not produce any idiot children.

I was drunk, walking up a very long road near where I lived, and I needed to take a leak desperately. There were no alleyways, and the road was a busy road with lots of shops etc. The first building I came to that afforded any sort of cover had steps leading up to an entrance, which meant there was a partially shadowed corner. I unzipped my fly and proceeded to relieve myself. Halfway through I felt a tap on my shoulder, turned round and found myself face to face with a cop. As if it wasn't bad enough that I'd been caught with my dick in my hand, it was then that I noticed what kind of building I had chosen to do my business - yes, it was a cop shop. The cop started rhyming of all these offenses I had committed - Destruction of police property; possible concealment of a weapon; public nudity; crime of decency. He was obviously taking the piss (Excuse the pun), which was a relief. He told me not to be so stupid in future, and to make sure I used the little boy's room before I went for long walks.

Back when I first started experimenting to make my own kinds of food, I wanted to make a dough so I could wrap some meatballs and a layer of rice in it. I googled "dough recipe" and made the first I could find.

Everything looked great when I pulled them out, but as soon as your tongue hit them, you knew something was wrong. It turns out the dough was for a make-at-home playdoh and I hadn't realized it. It was so salty, no one could eat it. I was very embarrassed.
