You know what, you're right. I've been slipping up too much lately even by my own standards. It kind of reminds me of my apologetic days actually . I'll try and start quoting the works in question directly and deduce my own conclusion from that.
I read the page you linked me to. I never find Catholics trustworthy.
These memoirs were composed by the Apostles and by those who followed them (Dialogue with Trypho 103); he refers in all probability to the four Evangelists, i.e. to two Apostles and two disciples of Christ
It's hard to believe anyone when they assert the disciples/Apostles were the authors. Apart from this, I agree with what you brought up (and Minimalist indirectly) that the Gospels didn't have a name until c. 185. Whether this means they still weren't penned down (i.e. possibly still being spread orally) or not I don't really know yet.
