I read that blog post. I kept having visions of him in a shiny suit and pounding on a pulpit.

Yes, humanise us by giving us a nice flashy label to group us all together with, that'll work.

But yeah, you're right, non-golfers aren't reviled like atheists are (by some people at least).

But the non-bacon eating society sure is!!!!! Big Grin

Sorry, what were we talking about again?

Sorry, spot of prejudice inspired by an exs relations shining through there. It happens from time to time.
Then I stop indulgently envisaging their deaths, snap out of it and act like nothing happened.
I jest of course... *shifty look*

Damnit, it makes me fucking angry, really. These idiots think they can speak for atheists, when appending claims of their own. Is their hunger for power so strong that they need to climb their supposed moral high ground? Fuck me if I ever fall for that weakness. Yet, they associate that to atheism, that's just the rejection of god claims. Fuck them and their personality cults.

More accurate:
Quote:Atheists plus we care about social justice (except social justice for men),
Atheists plus we support women’s rights (men's rights don't exist, anyone who tells you otherwise is a misogynist),
Atheists plus we fight homophobia and transphobia (whilst at the same time mocking things like male rape),
Atheists plus we use critical thinking and skepticism (except when it comes to opinions that differ from those of the hivemind).

I'm going to call myself a Popeyeist: I am what I am. Ug, ugugugugug.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It sounds like you have added I'm a radical individualist, and every other atheist should be too after you own "fucking period".

Personally I don't like the label Atheism+, I think they should call themselves what they are: liberal humanists. Don't shy away from the word 'humanism' because some people misuse it. Reclaim the word, redefine it.

But whatever atheists call themselves, it's inevitable that we will form sub-groups and barrack for our team. If we all remain radical individualists, that's a sure recipe to remain politically impotent and historical roadkill. So Atheism+ is a step in the right direction.

Sorry, I mock male rape all the time . . .

Wait, no. That's just creepy fantasizing. Carry on. /kidding

Nah, in all seriousness, good for them for labeling themselves. I'm not much of a labeler myself. Makes me feel like I have to conform or eventually deal with people telling me I'm doing it wrong. I can't find it in me to be bothered by them. As atheists, we don't get groupthink. Some atheists like groupthink. Therefore, the make groups so they can feel united in some way. Huzzah for them. I don't give a shit what they do.

Idiots..

I say, let them brand themselves. At least it'll be easier for the rest of the world to avoid those cunts Tongue
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
