I have a specific question I'd like to ask, which is why I joined the forum in the first place, but obviously that question will go in a different place. I hope I make myself comfortable here and, after reading some of the threads, can already tell I like y'all.

fun facts about me:
My name is April
I am twenty-five
I have just in the past year come to identify as being Atheistic
I basically owe the last fun-fact to good 'ol Carl Sagan

I'm a southerner, obviously, which makes my new-found lack of religion a bit difficult for me on the rare occasion it actually enters into conversation. I have a nice little group of friends who believe the same way I do and we have a grand old time living here in the Bible Belt.

So, hello to all! I look forward to becoming a regular member here.

adrian, watching/reading cosmos (oh god, i hate to even say this) has changed my life. i say that in half-jest, but it honestly gave me this wonderful appreciation for the universe, and in doing so, sort of afforded me the ability to finally admit i was an atheist. as cheesy as it sounds, i realized there is already enough magic in science that suddenly "a higher power" (of ANY kind) just stopped making sense.
