Hi MysticKnight,

It's easy to find lovely and comforting verses in any holy book. A holy book wouldn't last very long if it didn't have nice verses. But the Bible is a huge thing and while you may find lovely verses, there are also extremely evil verses that will make you want to puke. These evil verses are not just a description of the world we live in. They are verses that talk about God and the portray God as the most disgustingly evil beast. The Bible was what alerted me to the possibility that God probably didn't existed. It was a good thing I had good and progressive priests who agreed with my view or rather, they didn't exactly agree with me but they said it was a viable position to adopt.
