Now I know you came here thinking you'd find a hub of intellectual conversation but guess what? Nope. Not going to happen.
Instead you are going to find yourself being horrified, frustrated and baffled as nutcases who demonstrate all the personality of arse cancer express their utterly unbacked views and seem shocked you don't just take their quoted verses as proof that you are living in a universe controlled by whatever strange closet case of a deity they happen to be pitching. Sometimes they'll use metaphysics which by its very definition is unknowable and undetectable by us and so we cannot hope to entertain any idea of forming accurate concepts within it... and then claim their deity falls into that category apparently dead to the self-contradictory irony of their utterly ridiculous proposition. And yes, you will find people who believe we are the result of cavemen being fucked by aliens. Infact you'll find all sorts of strange little people who just trample in apparently not satisfied with whatever other forums and strange sexual fetishes they have available to them on the world wide web. You'll encounter stupidity on a scale that will make you want to gouge your eyes out and throw them at your screen.
Eventually you'll learn to accept this with wry bemusement and a slightly sado masochistic edge. You'll laugh at the absurdity of it but it will be a dead, hollow laugh that will reflect the utter hopelessness of the situation.
You'll slowly come to realize you are a sane member of an insane species purposely segmented into so many pieces it resembles the shreded remains of a masterpiece that vandals have taken a slightly watery shit on, you are Jack Nicholson in "One flew out of the cuckoos nest", you are utterly fucked.
Welcome. :-)

Raphiel; it usually takes new members a while to get to know me. Then after me there are christians here as well, I would get my coat now if I were you.

I'm not sure if you're berating me or coming on to me. I'm genuinely baffled as to the meaning of your post.
Either way I'm slightly aroused.

I am also sufficiently pleased with how unsettling my introduction to the new member was. The tradition has been honoured.

My apologises. I will now quote a poem from the great Chip Zdarsky to honor our friendship.

FATHERS DAY

By Chip Zdarsky, quoted from "A poem for henry and other poems"

I took another big sip out of the mug
Which said
"Worlds Greatest Dad"

"This tastes funny"
I said
To my father

"Ha ha!
Of course it tastes funny"
He bellowed
"It's a giant mug
Of semen!"

Wait

This wasn't my father

And this wasn't

A mug

"Who knew that women should keep silent in the church?"

It meant don't ask questions to your husbands when someone is preaching to you. In the particular Church, the wives would ask their husbands questions about the message they did not understand, which interrupted Paul.

Second set of the Commandments? Are you referring to the tablets created to replace the ones Moses smashed to the ground?
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

In the new testament, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

Pretty loud and clear to me...

Yes, but this second set is not the same as the first set.. Here are the new Ten Commandments in Exodus 34, not the original 10 that we all know...

1. You shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
2. You shall make for yourself no molten gods.
3. The feast of unleavened bread you shall keep.
4. All that opens the womb is mine.
[Sacrifice firstborn male animals to Yahweh.]
5. Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest..
6. You shall observe the feast of weeks, the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering.
7. You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven.
8. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left until the morning.
9. The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the LORD your God.
10. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

You do know that Romans saw women as second class citizens, right???

Ah, but you see, that's all taken out of context, and you have to read it in the original language, and then interpret it the right way. It's sort of a rule for atheists, you see. Theists get to make up their own rules. Or just chuck out the rulebook altogether.

Not forgetting there's six hundred and thirteen commandments in all, not just the Top Ten (and the other Top Ten).
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yeah, I know. I did 33 years in the government before retiring. The fuckers have no sense of humor.

The silliest thing is that Polaris in fact practiced morality like any of us would.

"hmm.. Paul was a little harsh there and quite sexist... better tone that down".

Isn't that God's righteousness right there? How many intellectual backflips will you let yourself do in order to maintain your faith?!
