RE: I've finally awakened!
It took me being throw out of the church after my wife was cheating with a deacon. Welcome to the world of freedom and open eyes.

In the new testament, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

Pretty loud and clear to me...

Yes, but this second set is not the same as the first set.. Here are the new Ten Commandments in Exodus 34, not the original 10 that we all know...

1. You shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
2. You shall make for yourself no molten gods.
3. The feast of unleavened bread you shall keep.
4. All that opens the womb is mine.
[Sacrifice firstborn male animals to Yahweh.]
5. Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest..
6. You shall observe the feast of weeks, the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering.
7. You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven.
8. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left until the morning.
9. The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the LORD your God.
10. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

Yeah. Pretty obvious. Shut the fuck up when Paul is speaking. Remember Paul acted like an jerk at times.

There are more than 600 laws. These pointed to the Old Covenant...similar to the 10 Commandments, yes, but signifying a different relationship.....more of submission to God rather than a code of moral behavior as was the case with the Ten.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

That last sentence is exactly what we mean by phrases such as "pick 'n' mix morality", and "the Big Book of Multiple Choice" to describe the bible.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Paul was sexist like a good Roman that he was.

Yes, your book is flawed. I'm sorry.

Then you must have fun reading the US Constitution and law records for states, counties, and cities. They made the Bible laws look rather tame.

Which book Fallen?

Probably true. I might give it a go, now you've piqued my interest. Living over here in this septic isle, I've never before felt the need.

I enjoy reading the old unrepealed laws sometimes. My favourite, which means it's probably not true, is one from Texas which says something like "when two trains meet face to face on the same stretch of track, they must both stop immediately; neither one is allowed to move until the other one is out of sight".

The one which states "god's righteousness" as being greater than our flawed morality. You know, the one that you're currently trying to justify through your moral compass.

Which book or are you talking about a collection of books?
