I am sure that what some of the Priests thought they were doing as well. does that make it ok if a priest talked a child into sex, rather than forcing the child into sex in your ideal world?
"Talked into" still means "forced". Only this time psychological pressure is used and we also assume that the child is somewhat stupid. Still NOT a good thing, harmful and disrespectful of basic human rights.

Because I often analyze and rethink all parts of my life. Ever thought of writing memoirs? I have. Anyway, I am not attracted to AGE, I am attracted to PEOPLE. I was attracted to this particular teacher and reversing the situation does not make any sense since it would not involve this particular person.
However, I absolutely adore the Xtian phrasing when describing such matters. What exactly do you mean by "destruction of a child's innocence"? Is a sexually inactive person "innocent" and later becomes "guilty" after initiation?

I think that is a very good question and certainly one that should be answered by ALL participants in this discussion.
If I could change the law myself, I would do the following:
1) I would make the age of consent UNIFORM across the United States, so that people would not become criminals just by travelling between states and being unaware of the "proper number" in a particular state. I would set the age of consent at 16 because from what I heard in the US most people do not wait until 18 anyway
2) I would change the legal age for watching adult entertainment in Poland from 18 to 15 in order to make it the same as the age of consent. If people have sex at 15 in my country, WHY on Earth would we officially ban them from watching it on film?
But this is only hypothesizing and now a bit of REALITY. We know about regulations but what does it really look like where you live? Let me describe what is going on in Poland in terms of the actual age of initiation.
1) there is some percentage of 15 year olds both male and female who simply have sex with teenagers the SAME AGE or younger, either in "relationships" or at discos etc. These are usually those considered to look particularly attractive and have the more outgoing personality.
2) now the interesting part: for the rest of them, the age of initiation is DIFFERENT depending on male or female. The VAST majority of females initiate their erotic life around the age of 15 with partners who are older. This particular issue has been discussed and documented in this mainstream Polish film:

As for males, the less attractive or outgoing ones do not initiate until their early or even late TWENTIES. So later on you get very experienced and competent women and very lame and inexperienced men. That's a bit of reality from my country. I wonder what it is like in other parts of the world.
